Today marks what would have been Jodi Huisentruit’s 56th birthday. Despite the years that have passed since her disappearance, Jodi’s vibrant spirit and enduring legacy continue to resonate with those who knew her and those who have come to know her story.
Jodi was known for her vivacious personality and dedication to her career as a television news anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa, and elsewhere. Her passion for television and her bright smile left a lasting impression on her colleagues, friends, and the communities she served.
Each year on June 5th, we are reminded of the unfinished work to find answers surrounding her disappearance. On June 27, 1995, Jodi vanished in the early hours of the morning, leaving behind a mystery that has yet to be solved. Her disappearance sparked an outpouring of support and a relentless pursuit of justice by family, friends, investigators, and advocates.
Jodi’s birthday is a poignant time to reflect on her life and the impact she had on those around her. Her laughter, warmth, and kindness are remembered fondly and often by family and friends. They recall her as a loving daughter, a dedicated sister, and a loyal friend who brought joy to many.
