Thursday marks 29 years since Jodi Huisentruit was abducted on her way to anchor the morning news at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa.
There has been no trace of the 27-year-old Long Prairie, Minnesota, native since that early morning on June 27, 1995. No one has ever been charged in connection with Iowa’s highest-profile unsolved case.
While Jodi’s family, friends and former KIMT-TV colleagues mark another year with no answers or a chance to say goodbye to her, our FindJodi team asks people to leave a a light on, or light a candle, to remember Jodi.
It’s our hope that turning on lights again this year will remind people, especially in the Mason City area, that Jodi is still missing.
You can use #LightsForJodi and #FindJodi in your social media posts to help raise awareness online.
The lights are one of several ways FindJodi will commemorate the 29th anniversary of Jodi’s disappearance.
On Thursday, we will host a small gathering in Mason City to honor Jodi and appeal for information.
We have also updated our FindJodi flyer which can be shared on social media and in your community and created a new trailer for our FindJodi podcast.
And thanks to the generosity of Reagan Outdoor Advertising, a second FindJodi billboard was recently installed on Highway 122/US 18 by the Mason City Airport.
Thanks, again, for all of your support for our mission to bring Jodi home.
Anyone with information about Jodi’s case can reach out to the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636 or information can be shared with Iowa DCI Special Agent Ryan Herman :rherman@dps.state.ia.us. And you can contact us at findjodi.com.
