Jodi Huisentruit Family Statement (June 27, 2026)
We had hoped last year would be the final year we would have to make a statement like this, but unfortunately, here we are today. With every year that passes, it becomes harder and harder to find the words to express the pain and anguish we have experienced and still experience today as this continues on. The grief of losing Jodi and not having her in our lives now is still very raw and real for us today, as it is for many of her dear friends and loved ones. Without answers to what happened to her and having her home with us, we are left haunted and restless by our lingering questions and angered by the lack of justice for the beautiful life and future stolen from her 31 years ago today.
As time has passed, we have been dealt a different kind of pain that sadly seems to come with a situation like this, and that is watching a person you deeply love and care for be reduced to sensationalism and clickbait. It is hard to describe the heartache of watching a family member or friend’s humanity be lost in the name of obtaining clicks, clout, or personal attention, especially when she is not here to set the record straight for herself. To be clear, we are sincerely grateful for the attention given to Jodi and the case that is approached with care, sensitivity, and respect, as we are well aware so many other missing person cases do not receive the same. With that said, we strive to keep the focus on who Jodi was as a person because this is where the truly remarkable story is. Jodi had such a passion for living life to the fullest, and her positive, optimistic, fun-loving personality was so contagious and filled a room. She was a bright light who made the world around her better just by being in it, and it is an absolute tragedy that someone who loved life as much as she did is not here enjoying hers.
We want to extend the biggest THANK YOU to the following:
To all who have worked tirelessly on Jodi’s case and continue to do so, especially law enforcement and FindJodi. We will never be able to say thank you enough, and we wholeheartedly appreciate your dedication to finding Jodi and solving her case.
To all of Jodi’s friends, for the love and support you all have provided us. You have been our support system on this journey, and we are eternally grateful for your encouragement and for helping out whenever it was needed.
To the community of Mason City and the surrounding area, for the love, kindness, and support shown to both Jodi and us over the last 31 years. It is not lost on us that this has been hard for you as well, and while this situation is the worst of humanity, you have shown us the best of it with your compassion and understanding throughout the years.
Finally, to everyone who has shown up here today and all who have supported us and continue to have genuine concern and interest in Jodi, her story, and in seeing her case be resolved. Please know your support means the world to us and gives us strength on the hardest days of this journey.
The pain and anguish felt by us and all who loved Jodi are immeasurable. True peace will only be given to us when Jodi is found and justice is served for all that has been lost. To anyone out there who has key information that could lead us to Jodi or help solve this case, we beg you to please come forward and not make us continue to wait for answers. We implore you: if you know something, say something. Help us finally bring Jodi home.
With love,
Jodi’s family
