In conjunction with the upcoming 30th anniversary of Jodi Huisentruit’s abduction, FindJodi, Inc. has produced a 30-second video to underscore how fast Jodi disappeared just before daybreak on June 27, 1995.
The video is called “30 seconds.”
The only sound in the brief video is of a clock ticking for 30 seconds. That’s about how long it took for the 27-year-old news anchor to leave her second-floor apartment and get to to her car parked just twelve steps outside her building,
Someone was waiting in the dark, about 4:30 a.m., and apparently attacked Jodi from behind. She never made it to KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa, to anchor the morning news.
The 27-year-old Long Prairie, Minnesota, native, who had dreams of someday being a network show anchor, is still missing.
Thirty years later, what happened to Jodi remains one of Iowa’s highest-profile mysteries.
In an effort to expand our outreach to anyone who might have information on Jodi’s unsolved case, FindJodi,Inc. will post the video on TikTok, in addition to our Facebook and YouTube platforms.
We decided to include TikTok, for the first time, as an effective platform to reach younger people who might not be engaged on other social media sites.
The “30 seconds” video was produced by FindJodi volunteer Brian Wise. Brian is also a photojournalist who works in the same television news market where Jodi was a morning news anchor.
Anyone with information about what happened to Jodi should contact the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636. You can also email Iowa DCI Special Agent Ryan Herman at rherman@dps.state,ia.us. And you can also reach out anonymously to us at FindJodi, Inc.
And you can join us in our efforts to find Jodi by posting the video on your social media sites, along with our newest flyer.
30 seconds. 30 years. It’s time.
