Brian Wise
Brian was born in Denver, Colorado, and has lived in several states, including Alaska, Illinois, and Minnesota.
He has been passionate about photography for nearly 15 years, first discovering his love for it as a junior at West Anchorage High School. He later attended Colorado Mesa University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications.
During college, Brian gained hands-on experience in media, working as a reporter and photographer for the campus newspaper and magazine. He also worked as a lifeguard, spent a summer as a camera operator for the Grand Junction Rockies, and completed a public affairs internship with the American Red Cross of Western Colorado.
After graduating in 2016, Brian moved to Rochester, Minnesota, to work as a photojournalist at KAAL-TV. Over the years, he has covered a wide range of stories across Southeastern Minnesota and Northern Iowa, including presidential visits, groundbreaking Mayo Clinic research, and high-profile court cases.
Brian first became interested in the Jodi Huisentruit case after watching the 48 Hours special on FindJodi, along with investigative reports by Caroline Lowe at WCCO and The Huisentruit File by Josh Benson and Gary Peterson at KAAL-TV. His interest deepened during the pandemic, when he began following true crime podcasts, including the FindJodi Podcast, which led him to explore the case further.
Brian believes Jodi’s family deserves answers. When he’s not working or investigating new leads, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, skiing, and spending time with his family, friends, and his cat, Mickey.
Recently, Brian also became certified in Wilderness First Aid through the National Outdoor Leadership School.
Brian joined the team on January 27, 2025.
