In 2004, convicted sex offender Thomas Corscadden was questioned by police in connection with television news anchor Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance from Mason City, Iowa in 1995.
In the most recent episode of the FindJodi podcast, Corscadden’s daughter Allysha makes her first public comments about her father.
Listen to “Thomas Gary Corscadden” on Spreaker.
She and other family members continue to believe that he may have been involved in Jodi’s abduction.
At the time of Huisentruit’s disappearance, Corscadden was living out of his van in Austin, Minnesota, about 45 minutes north of Mason City. The van was similar to one seen by an eyewitness in the early morning hours of June 27, 1995, prior to her abduction.
Allysha remembers that her father traveled to Iowa for work regularly, and Thomas Corscadden’s acquaintances in 1995 have recalled that he would drive to Mason City as often as several times per week.
According to the Minnesota Attorney General’s office, Corscadden has a 25-year history of sex crimes, including solicitation, public exposure, voyeurism, rape, and attempted rape.
In 2005, FindJodi co-founders John Benson and Gary Peterson covered the Corscadden lead in Jodi’s case for KAAL-TV:
Allysha has confirmed that her father was aware of Jodi, and that he would watch her on television often.
However, there is no known link between Thomas Corscadden and Huisentruit, or her abduction.
After questioning Corscadden in 2004, Mason City Police indicated they were “moving on” to other aspects of the investigation.
