Golfers say they remember Jodi telling them she planned to change her phone number the next day because she was receiving 'nasty, naughty' calls. The day before Jodi Huisentruit disappeared in June 1995, the Iowa anchorwoman spent several hours participating in a Mason City Chamber of Commerce golf tournament and awards dinner. She golfed with a team at the Highland Park Golf Course until rain cut the tournament short. Later that day, she attended the Chamber's social hour and awards dinner at the Mason City Country Club. In recent interviews with the FindJodi.com team, two golfers said Jodi told them she planned to change her phone number the next day because she had been getting "nasty" and "naughty" calls.

We reported last week that John Kooiker (R-Boyden) who represents District 4 in the Iowa House of Representatives is retiring from his post. Also last week, he sent a scathing letter criticizing the Mayor and Council for what he calls 'stonewalling his attempts' to bring attention to the Huisentruit case. John Kooiker (R-Boyden) represents District 4 in the Iowa House of Representatives. He is a retired farmer, educator and rural mail carrier. He resides near Boyden with his wife, Sheryl, who served as his clerk in the 86th Assembly. He did not seek re-election in 2016 and therefore is retiring from public service. This week, Rep. Kooiker released a scathing letter criticizing the Mayor and Council for stonewalling his attempts to bring attention to the Huisentruit case. We have a copy of the letter. Click below to read more.

Police Chief Jeff Brinkley told FindJodi's Caroline Lowe he believes Jodi's remains are most likely within a couple of counties from where she disappeared on her way to KIMT TV in Mason City, Iowa, on June 27,1995. The chief said he's not ready to publicly rule out any potential suspect who has been investigated. He's been briefed on the case by MCPD investigators and hopes to read the entire case file before he finishes his first year on the job in January. Chief Brinkley said anniversaries of crimes can be important dates to perpetrators.

We are approaching the 21st anniversary of the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit. Jodi was abducted from the parking lot of her apartment complex in the early morning hours of June 27th, 1995. Few details have been released in her case since that day, but according to Mason City Police Department, they continue to investigate leads in an effort to find Jodi and bring her abductor(s) to justice. Here is the latest statement from the department.

In a recent telephone conversation with FindJodi's Caroline Lowe, Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley reflected on what it will take to solve the case and what he thinks that resolution would mean to the Mason City community. Brinkley took over as chief in January 2016 after 20 years with the Ames, Iowa, Police Department. He's the fourth Mason City Police Chief since Jodi disappeared on her way to work at KIMT TV on June 27, 1995.
