We are approaching the 21st anniversary of the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit. Jodi was abducted from the parking lot of her apartment complex in the early morning hours of June 27th, 1995. Few details have been released in her case since that day, but according to Mason City Police Department, they continue to investigate leads in an effort to find Jodi and bring her abductor(s) to justice.
Here is a recent statement put out by Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley. Chief Brinkley is new to the Mason City Police Department and took over as Chief in January 2016.
Here is the Chief’s statement:
“June 27, 2016, will mark 21 years since Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance. Law enforcement personnel from a variety of agencies continue to work on leads in this case as part of their regular case load. This past year has included additional interviews and follow-up work.
At this point, we have not learned of information that will help us to move forward in making an arrest and subsequent criminal prosecution. We are continuing to investigate and visit with potential witnesses and persons of interest. We would ask anyone with information about this case to contact the Mason City Police Department or the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
This case also gives us a chance to focus on victims and their families, who are sometimes overshadowed by the story of the investigation or the defendant. We would ask that you be mindful of Jodi and similar victims who don’t have a voice. Please consider sharing information you may have that could be useful to law enforcement in this case.”
