Golfers say they remember Jodi telling them she planned to change her phone number the next day because she was receiving 'nasty, naughty' calls. The day before Jodi Huisentruit disappeared in June 1995, the Iowa anchorwoman spent several hours participating in a Mason City Chamber of Commerce golf tournament and awards dinner. She golfed with a team at the Highland Park Golf Course until rain cut the tournament short. Later that day, she attended the Chamber's social hour and awards dinner at the Mason City Country Club. In recent interviews with the FindJodi.com team, two golfers said Jodi told them she planned to change her phone number the next day because she had been getting "nasty" and "naughty" calls.

After 27 years, we finally know the answer to Minnesota's biggest unsolved mystery: Where's Jacob Wetterling? We recently learned Jacob's killer, Danny Heinrich, buried Jacob on a farm site barely 30 miles from where he was abducted in St. Joseph, and not far from where Heinrich lived in 1989. Police Chief Jeff Brinkley told FindJodi's Caroline Lowe he believes Jodi's remains are most likely within a couple of counties from where she disappeared on her way to KIMT TV in Mason City, Iowa, on June 27,1995. The chief said he's not ready to publicly rule out any potential suspect who has been investigated. He's been briefed on the case by MCPD investigators and hopes to read the entire case file before he finishes his first year on the job in January. Chief Brinkley said anniversaries of crimes can be important dates to perpetrators.

An annual golf scholarship fundraiser in honor of Jodi Huisentruit will be held June 10th in her hometown of Long Prairie, Minnesota. The event is sponsored by Jodi's Network of Hope which was founded in 2005, ten years after the young anchorwoman disappeared on her way to work in Mason City, Iowa. She hasn't been seen since that day on June 27, 1995.

Brinkley took over as chief in January 2016 after 20 years with the Ames, Iowa, Police Department. He's the fourth Mason City Police Chief since Jodi disappeared on her way to work at KIMT TV on June 27, 1995.
