No, we’re not offering a million dollar reward

By Josh Benson @wflajosh · On April 29, 2019

It’s come to our attention that someone has posted to Craigslist with an offer of a million dollars for information leading to Jodi Huisentruit’s killer.

While we would love to make this offer, it’s simply not doable – or true for that matter.

Our tip line phone number was used to encourage tipsters to come forward.

Keep in mind, if we ever make a reward available, we will do so on OUR website and it will be obvious that we are the organization putting up the reward (or will specifically explain in detail who the donor that we’re collaborating with will be).

If you have any interest in putting up a reward, we’d be happy to speak with you and collaborate on getting this done the right way, not through a cryptic Craigslist ad that is likely fictitious.

Jodi Huisentruit Craigslist Post

The post reads:

We are offering a 1 million dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who murdered Jodi Huisentruit and the return of her remains to her family.

We know there are few people that the killer has shared his story with over the years. The killer was a young man from Mason City who owned a white van.

Again, we did not create this post, nor do we know who did. We will be asking Craigslist to remove it.
