Podcast 025. I just listened to the discussion of your visiting the Key Apartments. In my previous comments, I mentioned it was easy enough for a stalker to stay at the campground, even discover Jodi while walking up to the apartments, then stalk her. Yes, he would have had to sit in his car or have one to watch and abduct her. It was mentioned by a person who lived there that a creepy guy was hanging out there leaving his beer cans. Was this the person watching Jodi? Did they confiscate the beer cans for DNA. I've asked before did they try to collect DNA by the dumpster which seemed like the obvious place for the abductor to hide. He would have planned an attack from behind. Anyone attacking from the front would have given her time to drop everything, run and scream.
Why didn't more people report this guy being around you ask? Why didn't they report the scream and noise that night that brought them out into the hallway to look out the window, see nothing, and go back into their apartment? But if it was a maintenance man or previous worker at the complex then they would know who he was and not mention him being around. Did they interview everyone who worked there then or previously? Even someone who worked in Jodi's apartment. Someone mentioned an electrician who worked there frequently.
I knew pretty much every car in my condo parking lot and my sister's across the street. A strange one would have stood out. Jodi's new Miata certainly would have and I'm quite certain if I'd run into her I would have admired it and asked her about it. She was a friendly person I'm sure she got a lot of questions. Did she have a chance meeting with someone one day? That's quite possible.
As far as the campground, a number of people stay at them for all kinds of reasons. Corscadden could have stayed there when he had work in Mason City. Someone just hanging around the apartment to see what they could see, even break into one is a possibility. They may have recognized Jodi. If they knew she lived there it would have been easy enough to call her, scare her, watch her and then abduct her.
I think Jodi was watched before she was abducted. I also think this was someone who knew how to commit this crime. Whether it was planned over time, or soon before, it was planned.
