I live in the Mason City area and have always believed JVS is the only one possibly responsible for this abduction. He was very obsessed with her and to this day acquaintances of his believe he did this. I don't think the MCPD had adequate evidence to convict him, and that's why he's been a free man ever since. Someone needs to do a follow up investigation on him and what he's been doing for the last 20 years. In past interviews even Jodi's sister got bad vibes from him . I just don't understand why they just dismissed him as a suspect so easily . I also believe JVS is very egotistical and watches this site. It's a very scary thought but I believe he's proud of himself for getting away with this for 20 years!
