It was good to watch this again, but, to me, the Disappeared program highlights what went wrong with the investigation from the start. There was a lot of talk about Jodi's fans. I think this was a reasonable leap of logic at the time. A beautiful anchorwoman goes missing -- the abductor must be an obsessive viewer. However, I wonder if Jodi's local celebrity didn't point law enforcement in the wrong direction -- away from the people closest to her. There were vehicles and an apartment that apparently weren't searched, there was a friend who was visibly rattled early that morning, showed up at the scene early and made cryptic statements, there were other friends and a jogger who might have been able to provide valuable information... I've often wondered, if Jodi had been in another professsion, if the resulting investigation would have taken a more conventional track and focused on those closest to her, rather than the public at large.
